Description

It helps trigger critical digestive activities like releasing pancreatic enzymes and bile to break down food into smaller particles, which are more easily converted and assimilated into useful nutrients in your intestines. Smidge probiotic for sensitive stomachs is made for your comfort. Smidge carefully calibrate the probiotic strains to ease digestion, promote regularity and minimise potential side effects. That means omitting certain strains found in commercial brands that can cause histamine intolerance, acidosis and other reactions. Taking the probiotic with food provides a buffering system for the supplement and ensures its safe passage through the digestive tract. Food also provides the bacteria in the probiotic the proper nourishment to ensure its survival in the gut.

Always start with a smidge! Use one Smidge® spoonful (20 mg). Take once a day, with food, or as directed by a certified healthcare practitioner. (See "low and slow" note below.) Comfortable and thorough digestion: Probiotics support a healthy digestive system and also play critical roles in helping your body break down and absorb nutrients. They even produce critical vitamins when your body is in need, like K2 and several B vitamins.* Also, individuals with severe D-lactate metabolism issues may not be able to tolerate Smidge. The bacterial strain Lactobacillus plantarum that is used in Smidge produces D-lactate, but most produce L-lactate which may balance lactate concentrations in the digestive tract reducing issues. Some people with D-lactate issues can tolerate Smidge, while others may not; it is worth a shot to see if it improves your digestive health.

This probiotic was born when customers with extremely sensitive digestive systems told Smidge they weren’t able to tolerate certain strains and irritating ingredients in the commercial products on the market.

S. boulardii, the friendly yeast strain found in Smidge® Yeastbiotic, may prevent and treat diarrhea caused by antibiotics. It does this by gently crowding out troublesome microbes in the gut and augmenting the intestinal absorption of D-glucose and sodium, which may enhance the uptake of water and electrolytes during occasional diarrhea.* You also won't find common allergens or unnecessary ingredients. Another plus? No prebiotics, like inulin or maltodextrin.Comes with a Smidge® dosage spoon which allows you to measure the amount that’s right for you and your family. A spoonful is 20 mg. Lactobacillus gasseri: L. gasseri is naturally found in the human digestive and urinary tracts. It’s been shown in clinical trials to help people lose weight. Preliminary research indicates that L. gasseri may inhibit inflammation signaling at the genetic level. L. gasseri may also support healthy cholesterol levels already within a normal range. A probiotic can work alone and does not require a prebiotic. Our pure probiotics can colonize without a prebiotic. If you are undergoing treatment for a medical condition or if you are pregnant or lactating, please consult your medical practitioner first Introducing our pure, potent Sensitive Probiotic powder, with the same GutPro® formula you know and love.

Bifidobacterium bifidum: Bifidobacteria are a group of bacteria that typically live in the human intestines and stomach, that help to perform essential functions like digestion and the maintenance of beneficial bacteria. One study suggests that B. bifidum may support immunity by staving off colds and touches of the flu in the winter months. Another clinical study indicates B. bifidum may help with abdominal discomfort caused by gas and bloating. And yet another study states that B. bifidum can help with occasional diarrhea. Clinical research suggests that B. bifidum can help maintain comfortable joint movement by helping manage inflammation. There’s also a correlation to improved mental health (supporting mood and easing anxiety), as bifidobacterium is classified as a “psychobiotic”, which affects central nervous system-related functions and behaviors mediated by the gut-brain-axis. Many of our customers have tried up to 20 brands of commercial probiotics with frustrating and even painful results. Then they land on the soft pillow that is Smidge® Sensitive Probiotic powder. <3 And because the capsules are less condensed than the powder, they're ideal for those just starting probiotics. They're also great for travel! Suggested use: As Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride, MD, creator of the GAPS diet, puts it: "HCl is like the first critical person in an assembly line. If HCl isn't there in adequate amounts, nothing can quite make up for it. The whole assembly line breaks down."

Sensitive Probiotic: The Sensitive Probiotic powder is best for ages 3 and over, or children between the ages of 2 and 3 who have already used the infant formula. It contains one extra strain (L. plantarum) and is twice the potency of the Infant Probiotic. Smidge® Sensitive Probiotic is a powerful formula that does not require large doses. However, it's suited for sensitive individuals who may have reacted to certain strains of bacteria found in other probiotic formulas. Many of our customers with histamine intolerance, digestive issues, skin problems and other health conditions begin with our Sensitive Probiotic Powder. In all, it's for those who are serious about gut health: a clean, potent, therapeutic-grade probiotic with eight strains of beneficial bacteria that are essential for digestive health, and no additional ingredients. This product is also available in capsules.

Please keep in mind that the age to progress from one formula to another for every person varies. Since everyone is unique and responds differently to different formulas, it's important to consider the individual's health history, diet, metabolism, and recommendations by a practitioner — not just age. And our customer service team is here to answer your questions :)

People with severe immune compromisation should use any probiotic supplement, including Smidge, with caution because it may cause sepsis. Even though Lactobacillus is considered a probiotic genus, infections of the probiotic have been noted. These “ infections” may not occur from colonization but rather from increased Th1 or Th2 reactions , which worsen symptoms through increased cytokine production by the immune system. 22 Introducing Smidge® HCl + Enzymes, for those who feel bloated, gassy, or have acid reflux after a meal.* So you can relax after eating and soak up all of the wholesome nutrients in your food. Smidge® probiotics contain active freeze-dried bacteria, versus live cultures. Unlike live cultures, which can be destroyed in transit by heat, freeze-dried bacteria hold up well in warm weather, as they remain intact and stable with all of their beneficial properties. This means your probiotics will arrive in optimal condition. Dental health: Probiotics may help keep the microbial population in the mouth healthy, which means healthy teeth, fresh breath and a vibrant smile.*
