They both have good sillage and projection- but I'm weird with this one in that for me, Baccarat Rouge is quite an inoffensive and light fragrance, and it doesn't project on me as much as it seems to project on other people, I have tons of other fragrances with better performance, so I don't want to compare them too much in that regard. I tested on a not too warm spring day and so the hope remains that some performance can be tickled out. But I know that I’m anosmic to BR540 50% of the time so I got a small sample of this to play with and I definitely get the Abercrombie and BR540 had a baby vibes that I’m seeing in the comments. After trying a sample of this scent, I purchased two bottles because I loved it and wanted it to be my signature, but, upon wearing it regularly, I noticed it has absolutely no lasting power on skin. I wonder if there is some sort of molecular business going on because it reminds me a lot of how Not A Perfume behaves and a bit similar to how it smells.

Yes it smells similar to the Baccarat Rouge, however, the Baccarat Rouge is too pungent to me in the medicinal note, which is why I was really afraid of the Sunset Riot. It smell's like a combination of BK540, a dash of Parfums de Marly Herod, and a pinch of Parfums de Marly Layton. Where it does fall high on the list is the categories of harshness and lack of smoothness in the blend. I plan on wearing this during the day, and topping it up with Montale sensual instinct in the evenings.

The BR540 smells more to me THE DAY AFTER I used it so I think it's something to do with molecular weight maybe. Sweet, sparkling peppery opening and a soft amber dry down with some interesting molecules added for sure.

It doesn’t smell like cloud to me in any way, this doesn’t come off sweet on my skin, it smells metallic and slightly masculine.
