Description

This is a tale of dark obsession which is told in a straightforward, no nonsense fashion at a quick pace which makes for an easy and entertaining read.

She is on a book tour when she realizes she is being followed by someone who is killing at each stop on her tour.

These books can be read as stand alone, and you get a brief summary in each woman at the start of the book. This book has the usual short sharp chapters that we are used to from James and his co-authors and it very quickly picks up and becomes very exciting.

Even the court case that Yuki was defending started off in what seemed like a one-sided expected outcome, but Patterson and Paetro found some ways to add in some worry and concern before the ending resolution. All four Murder Club members appear in this 23rd instalment and they all play a part in the plot (which has been missing for quite a few recent publications in the series). While Yuki is sure that this is a slam dunk, the accused tells a story of depravity committed against him and how he was out of his head. This is one of the better ones in the series and it got really good and once I sat down and could really get into it I didn't want to put it down and didn't want it to end. Not only is the name creepy, he is following in the footsteps of the infamous and imprisoned serial killer Evan Burke.

When two dead bodies are found inside a wrecked car on the Golden Gate Bridge, Detective Lindsay Boxer doubts that it will be anything as simple as a traffic accident. I feel like everything that happened is something I’ve already seen or read somewhere else and the writing was clunky. The plot is good, however there’s zero detective work and in the main the book lacks the he details and anticipation to suck me in.

As the title indicates, this is the 23rd installment in the Women’s Murder Club series, which shows not only the persistence of the authors but also their uncanny ability to keep churning out interesting stories featuring these dynamic characters. Now AnnieLee may not live long enough to realize her dreams of stardom—or for the world to learn her true identity. She loves yoga, jazz music and, like her friend Lindsay Boxer, loves to read travel books and mysteries—she's even a member of a book club. At times, it has lost steam, including superficial and ludicrous serial killer villains, repetitive and formulaic storylines that have grown old, and stagnant growth in most of the primary characters.
