He combines a bold, graphic style that uses heavy black silhouettes with an obsessive attention to detail that really suits the mania of the story. The obnoxious dialogue really kills anything interesting about the actual story for me and made it a bit of a slog to get through since I had to stop and sigh and roll my eyes every other panel.

Quando tomei conhecimento desta série achei que iria revolver sobre as lendas urbanas dos reptilianos na família real inglesa, mas não foi o caso, era algo muito mais simples. All throughout this miniseries, then, six issues in total, what we are being given is a Batman who not only recognizes the dread he instils, but one who also acknowledges (and, perhaps, revels in) his status as a man who has reached the peak of what the human body and the human mind can attain. At the end of the day, I think this is my favorite Black Label book along with Spurrier’s Hellblazer and Harleen.

There's a crime wave in Gotham, and several of the city's most notorious criminals have been turning up. I loved his Green Lantern stuff with Morrison recently, and his new digital style, while controversial with some people, just works so well for this story.

Or maybe, the bizarre shift in tone will feel less abrupt once the series is collected into a trade. His attitude towards criminals comes off the same as a rich person who is inconvenienced by someone less fortunate. There are also some serious creative liberties taken for iconic characters, notably the Joker, who look nothing like anyone would’ve ever imagined for these characters. The horrific and graphic nature of parts of the story, indeed, ends up becoming less shocking than it should have been; we are left wondering why a book that is supposed to be read by mature readers cannot be given full freedom of expression, especially with Mr Sharp’s artistic abilities being so impressive and Mr Ennis’ script being so bloodily funny.A trama gira em torno de assassinatos de diversos inimigos do Batman que estavam em um encontro e tudo indica que o culpado foi o Crocodilo. The painted style is an odd choice and wasn’t to my taste, though, even if it had looked like Sharp’s usual artwork, it wouldn’t have improved the book. Ennis, mostly doing this as a favor to get a friend back into the swing of things after he had been sick, just forgot about the script. The monster is killed, and Killer Croc is arrested, but Batman remarks that Croc is still mutating, and could become something even worse in the future. Monster Is a Mommy: Not the monster itself, but Killer Croc, who became a hermaphrodite and gave birth to it.
