It's more on the youthful side as well, but a bit more mature and sophisticated than Ariana Grande's fragrances (which I love so much). The warm and clean base makes it feel like a caramel-scented body lotion, rather than a caramel sauce or candy.

I tried this on back in 2013 and again in 2023 and I thought at my nose would become more refined, but the fragrance was still a muddled disappointment as I couldn't detect any of the notes. This is not a true gourmand, this is I’m testing the waters barely tipping my toe into the world of gourmand to see if I like it type of scent. This is an EDP and in my opinion, Candy L’eau - and EDT has better performance, sillage and more complexity. I am not violently jolted back to a 1940s boudoir with talc and iris in the air, but rather gently reminded of a retro sort of femininity without it being kitschy.Not sure what other people are experiencing with the sillage and projection, but I don't have any issues with either.

After the dry down, it immediately transported me to being 6 years old, bored out of my mind in my Mexican Catholic church.it is sweet and powdery but that's almost all I get - no caramel or even vanilla, and certainly does not remind me of candies. So many people think it is so sweet smelling, and compare it to Pink Sugar (which I happen to like a lot) but to me, Candy is completely unique, and complex, and musky/amber/rich smelling rather than super sweet. If you enjoy powdery, maturely sweet, and strangely comforting scents, this may be more up your alley. It’s pretty and I do really like it but a bit disappointing because I’ve been into food-y fragrances lately, lol.
