Wenn man ein und dieselbe CD zwei mal hat, spricht das ziemlich eindeutig dafür, dass diese Musik gefällt. One of my favourite albums the genius of Fishes lyrics and the guitarist Steve Rothery talent combined to make some fantastic songs. Mi piacciono i Marillion con Fish, non sono un vecchietto, ma uno che è appassionato di genesis, yes pink floyd, led Zeppelin e tutta la musica Rock anni 67 70 80. This is the first Marillion album featuring the original recording line-up of Fish [Vocals], Steve Rothery [Guitar], Peter Trewavas [Bass], Mick Pointer [Drums] and Mark Kelly [Keyboards]. John Franck has given the album a retrospective rating of four-and-a-half stars out of five on AllMusic.

The cover artwork was designed by Mark Wilkinson, who would be commissioned to the role on all Marillion releases through The Thieving Magpie (1988).I love this album as a whole: superb music, detailed lyrics and fantastic cover Artwork create a unified vision that Marillion had spent the proceeding few years creating.

He Knows You Know" gained some airplay in the United States and reached number 21 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. Script for a Jester's Tear is the only studio album by Marillion to feature the band's original drummer and founding member Mick Pointer, who was dismissed following the album's UK tour. The album reached number seven and spent 31 weeks in the UK Albums Chart, eventually achieving a platinum certificate, and produced the Top 40 single " He Knows You Know" and the Top 20 single " Garden Party". The drummer puts in a good performance, just markedly different to later albums which helps define this early, fragile sound. In the United States, however, it failed to make any impact, peaking at number 175 on the Billboard 200 chart.Discs Three and Four feature the previously unreleased show from the Marquee Club, London on the 29th December 1982. It was awarded a platinum certification by British Phonographic Industry on 5 December 1997 for over 300,000 copies sold.

In addition to that, the Blu-ray also includes the previously released Recital of the Script video and, as extras, promo films of some tracks from the album. There really isn't a bad moment as the warm, yet sparse, weave of the songs carries the early, mannered Vocals of Fish through his first Loves and Life experiences. This is in no small part to the presence on the kit of Pointer who lacked his successors drive and strong rhythmic ability. It was produced by David Hitchcock, who was also contracted to work on the group's first full-length album.

Script for a Jester's Tear is the debut studio album by British neo-prog band Marillion, released in the United Kingdom on 14 March 1983 by EMI Records.
