The Answer supplies flesh-crawling suspense, sudden fear, a colorful Danny Elfman score and a creepy array of shape-shifting beings. It includes about 40 minutes of new footage and deletes some of the old footage to reach a healthy 120 minutes.This was my first time seeing a cut of the film closer to Clive Barkers intentions and it left me wanting more. It was a combination of screenings around the world by Russell, a petition assembled by Jose, social-media push by the members of the Clive Barker Podcast to keep the momentum going until Morgan Creek saw that it was a viable product. The original film was full of nice ideas that seemed underdeveloped but the director does a short interview at the start of this version explaining his motives for the director's cut (he states it was butchered by the studio originally) and what wanted to achieve and I think he largely succeeded.
