I do like the idea of this "chimping the blues" approach - Crumb's CD with Jerry Zolten worked for me but this strikes me as a cheap, bodged together mess . As I understand it, the discussion was made at Crumb's French home and they'd like us to believe they were actually playing the 78s as they talked. Never thought I'd give a 3 star review to a Robert Crumb CD but really the music deserves better than this. Each episode features a different theme and style and some will feature special guests playing records from their collections.
