To be honest the parallels between Raymond's family and mine were very uncomfortably close, except mine were not quite as hilarious, with Ray Romano as Raymond ably supported by Patricia Heaton (The Middle) as his wife Debra and Brad Garrett as his brother Robert and the sadly departed pairing of Doris Roberts and Peter Boyle as his out of control parents this was a show for all ages, with real life brothers and sister the Sweetlyn kids were perfect as the Barone children who although never the focus of the show were reliable and funny/sweet when required. We use cookies to give you the best possible experience on our site, provide personalised content and advertising, analyse our traffic, and ensure you see more of what you love. Romano also explained, "There's a lot more kissing on the show than in real life;" and his wife Anna continued, "and they talk a lot more in the show than we ever do at home. Ally's F', 'Boys' Therapy', 'Debra's Parents', 'A Job for Robert', 'A Date for Peter', 'Favors', 'The Faux Pas', 'Tasteless Frank', 'Sister-In-Law', 'The Power of No', 'Pat's Secret' and 'The Finale'.

Audio commentaries for episodes "The Toaster" and "How They Met" with Ray Romano and Phil Rosenthal.

His obnoxious parents (who live across the street) and his jealous brother are always getting in the way. After the trip to Italy in the episode "Meant To Be", Robert finds himself in several pseudo-relationships.

The following episode "Not So Fast" follows up with an expected development: Frank and Marie are loving life in their new community, but no one in the community shares the sentiment. Horan is especially of interest, as she plays Robert's girlfriend Amy and becomes an important part of the show as its progresses. On the chance you already own all nine seasons on DVD, then double-dipping for the special packaging and script isn't worth it. Series Four episodes are 'Boob Job', 'The Can Opener, 'You Bet', 'Sex Talk', 'The Will', 'The Sister', 'Cousin Gerard', 'Debra's Workout', 'No Thanks', 'Left Back', 'The Christmas Picture', 'What's With Robert?Frank thinks Ray has mental problems; Marie checks with Debra to assure she's meeting Ray's "needs". There are almost no moments when you would roll your eyes and ask yourself "what the hell am I watching", and considering there are less and less above-average sitcoms lately, that's not something to sneer at.

His older brother Robbie enjoys Rays misfortunes, which just makes Robbie an A-hole, and when Deborah and Raymond get into fights or find out about something stupid Ray has done, she does what a mature girlfriend or wife 'shouldn't' do and does the silent treatment, which by the way doesn't help to solve problems and just makes things worse. Audio commentaries are included for episodes "Counseling" with Ray Romano, Phil Rosenthal, and Mike Royce, "Just A Formality" with Ray Romano, Phil Rosenthal, Monica Horan, and Anna Romano, "Meeting The Parents" with Ray Romano, Phil Rosenthal, Chris Elliott, and Fred Willard, and "Baggage" with Ray Romano, Phil Rosenthal, and Tucker Cawley. Overall, Everybody Loves Raymond: The Complete Series is a snazzy set with hours of great sitcom television. When one of the fish dies, Frank goes into a serious depression, which Ray attributes to his dad facing his own mortality. This complete series collection has the show's entire nine seasons, which is made up of two-hundred and ten episodes.

While his stink-tastic television performance is funny, the real comedy comes from how his family treats him. Rosenthal pitched the show to CBS president Les Moonves, CBS comedy vice president David Himelfarb, CBS comedy development executive Wendi Goldstein, and CBS comedy and drama development head Gene Stein. A 1997 review by Bruce Fretts, which gave the show the same score, said that the show "may now be the best sitcom on the air. This season includes a lot of storylines about their relationship with several reprised roles from her parents and odd brother Peter played by Chris Elliott, and ends with a wedding that can only happen when your mother is Marie Barone. If double-dipping is not an issue and you are curious about the series, then I would say pick up this massive set! In 2009, series creator/producer Philip Rosenthal traveled to Russia to adapt the show for local audiences. The episode "The Angry Family" is about the Barone family dynamic (constant bickering and fighting) being revealed to the public.
