So if you are going to use for bedrooms or outside terraces, quite bars, I would suggest Kurogaki for some romantic night but maybe N-44G CLUB improved for techno-trip-hop/house music in somewhat dark night club. Apparently the 'flexible' model is 16 size, whereas Shure was 20, so it will be slightly less flexible than Shure. So maybe wont bend to one side as easily. Also inquiring about the blue and red 'skratch' model: https://plantrecords.official.ec/items/22535493 The V15 V includes other versions than the standard V15 V: the V15 VMR, V15 VxMR, and Ultra 500. There are a number of other subtle variations that are confusing to say the least, and not at all helped by the awkward branding. The Ultra 500 version is a V15 V with metal mounting that may be the best of the bunch. Some prefer the VxMR, though it does have a rolled off high end which has lead people to make comparisons to the Shure M97xE.

have been using the Jico version for about a month and while it doesn't hold the vinyl as well as the Shure for mixing/scratching, and there's a bit too much low end, other than that the sound it good overall it's a solid substitute.I agree that the three styli give very similar results. For my taste the G sounds slightly more refined (maybe more restrained) than the others. I know that frequency response is not the only factor to consider, but I thought it would be interesting to compare the three files for frequency, analyzing the whole file in each case. A few years ago Shure distributor had withdrawn from the catalog, tol gnrale and scandal at the dealer said. Hey NinjaGaijin, thank you really for this detailed reply. The glow is for sure not something I'd be getting, so that's figured out. My understanding is that the original line up was M44E, M44-5, M44-7 and M44C. They appeared about the time of the first V15 as they share the same body in different housings. The N44-1 and N44-3 styli added mono and 78rpm to these models. The M55E appeared when the original V15 was replaced by the V15II, as to all intents purposes they are the same and the M44-5 was superceded by the M44G.

R is on the left, L is on the right, color o-rings can be removed and swaped, letter markings are divided horizontally, but audio is divided vertically, instead of color code each pin G=green, B=Blue, W=White, R=Red, has R, L, RG, LG. Can you say anything about the difference in output as this can affect the sound or perception of sound. I’m telling this story for two reasons; one, the sound of that 1200 still haunts me and like chasing the dragon for an addict, it’s the feel of that first system (aforementioned 1200, an original NAD 3020 and a pair of Klipsch Heresy II) that I still try to build on with every iteration of hi-fi I’ve curated throughout the in-between decade. The second is the fact that the Shure M44-7 was integral to shaping how music was heard not only for my generation, but Boomers as well. NinjaGaijin: go here https://www.kabusa.com/frameset.htm?/m1200.htm, Under Headshells, look for HS Washers. In return, please consider naming your firstborn after me.

The Different Types of Shure V15

A: They did in the late 70s. But we couldn’t come up with something better performing than what we had in moving magnet units. Regarding the Shure M44G and M44-7, both improved original versions, I can say that they sound pretty similar. To clarify, there is NO difference in specs apparently between the 7 and G models by Jico - just the colour of the stylus body. That's what Jico told me. In fact, the N44-7 taient OE on 1200 Technics SL which are the origin of the standalone player upscale.
