Dinosaur eggs - I found hatched open porcelain eggs at my dollar store that was part of an Easter decorating kit. I stuffed a couple of them with small dinosaur figurines. I gave Brent the task of making the cake again this year. We went with a simple Funfetti cake with light icing and crushed golden Oreos on top. I chose to make the envelope liner out of scrapbook paper with tropical leaves because I wanted it to have more of a vintage island feel rather than slap you in the face dinosaur theme. Cupcakes - We served vanilla cupcakes topped with buttercream icing and fondant eggs. You could also top them with dinosaur cupcake toppers. I placed the cupcakes on a wooden 2-tier cupcake stand. When my family does parties we show up dressed for parties. Ha. We always wear shirts or outfits to go with the theme.
Balloons - This year, we went with a luxe style balloon garland for the dessert table, and helium balloons in the party/craft room.

If you have many shades of food coloring to play with, try using one drop of yellow, one drop of blue, and one drop of brown to get the same shade of green you see in my photos. Adding a tiny bit of brown will give you a slightly more sophisticated sage green color. But a bright shade of green frosting for a dinosaur cake is also a great idea; it will look like eye-catching grass. For props I had a basket where guests could grab: the INSTAX camera, magnifying glass, kid binoculars, plastic safari hats, and that inflatable brachiosaurus. Dinosaur Party Decor I made the bean bags that looked like raw meat. I just used various sheets of red felt I already had in my stash and filled it with rice since I didn’t have any beans. When it comes to birthday parties, it's all about the finger foods and dips (the less messy the better right?). We provided large Dinosaur plates served with dark green napkins. You can mix and match and use dinosaur napkins or get a party bundle set. And don't forget green straws.
Our jungle photo booth included a bench for guests to sit. I needed to cover up the bench so I created a foreground for the photo booth. In line with the dinosaur theme party, label little tent cards with creative phrases to describe the food such as:

This is by far one of the easiest ways to make your own dinosaur cake at home with a total beginner skill level. It will save you a lot of money instead of buying a custom dinosaur birthday cake and it still looks super exciting for your three year old birthday boy or birthday girl. I put a plastic dinosaur in each of these kraft boxes with windows and made a name tag based on all the guests’ name and birth month.
I like putting fruit and veggies in individual cups because they are allow guests to easily grab and hold them. We displayed them on a galvanized 2 tier serving stand. Foam dinosaurs - I cut foam paper into dinosaur shapes by tracing around dinosaur cookie cutters and then cutting them out. Make sure you allow your cake to cool completely before you decorate it. You can even bake the cake the night before your dinosaur themed birthday party and cover it, then you can decorate it the next day. Carve a number three in the birthday cake

Mousse cups - These nutella mousse cupsare also great to include in the dessert table. Serve them in mini cups. Paint - We opted out of a paint set up to make clean up easier. If you want to include paint, be sure to include paint brushes and small paint palettes. It was kind of a party fail because nobody could break it except Brent and even then it took him several times before he ended up hitting the head off it in a somewhat disturbing manner. Ha.
