About this deal

Pasta – You can use any pasta you have in the cupboards for this recipe. I like to use fusilli as it traps the sauce/tuna in it’s ridges and my young daughter finds it easier to eat over more slippery pastas like penne. You can also bulk cook, make a tuna pasta bake and use them for lunches, maybe you have children and you wanted to put some in their lunches! Forget boring sandwiches and send them with a pasta dish instead, how fun! Tuna Pasta Bake Recipe Equipment

If you aren’t using an ovenproof frying pan, transfer the pasta to an overnproof dish, scatter with the grated cheese and bake as above. Sharp Knife – to cut your onion and garlic. Always use a sharp knife (and sharpen before each use) as blunt knives can be very dangerous!I grew up in a household where I was sent to school with bento boxes when all I wanted was a peanut butter sandwich. So I totally missed the Tuna Mornay experience that many of my friends shudder at the memory of – some sort of white sauce in a jar mixed with pasta and tuna, then baked. Large Oven Proof Frying Pan – where this is handy for avoiding excess pots, if you don’t have one, you can always transfer it to an oven proof dish before baking instead. Season with salt and pepper and taste throughout the recipe. There’s nothing more disappointing than making something from scratch and not enjoying the taste! Our tuna pasta casserole make a great weekend dinner, served with garlic bread, salad and homemade coleslaw.

Marinara sauce substitute. In case you don't have any sauce ... Another budget friendly option is to use tomato paste mixed with vegetable or meat broth. You'll have to add more seasonings to get the best flavor. I know that some people also like to use vegetable juice like V8, but personally I use it only for soups and haven't tried it for pasta yet. Let me know if you do, and how it turned out! Add the veggies, parsley, tuna and cheese sauce to the cooked pasta and mix well. Top with the extra cheese. You can put this slimming world tuna pasta bake recipe in the slow cooker if you wanted, however I tend not to do this because it can be a little dry and far too crunchy for me to handle. I like to do mine in a nice casserole dish in the oven! Slimming World Tuna Pasta Bake

In fact, it’s something I’ve only recently begun to eat thanks to my husband. Over the years he’s managed to stop me being a fussy eater and turn me into a food blogger. And as you know, I now eat virtually anything! That’s a pretty huge leap but then, he is a pretty amazing person.

Mushroom Ketchup (Optional) – I only add this as I have it in my cupboards. It adds a richness to the sauce but is by no means essential. Just leave it out if you don’t have it.
