It's a pretty easy process, and it's nice to know you have a fully color-accurate monitor that will be a true representation of what you want your final output to look like.

Then let’s get into my travels: when I go to hotels the desk tables are in many different places that have much different lighting. The lighting in a hotel in New Orleans is far different from one in Barcelona and significantly different from a suite in Oregon. From what I’ve gathered over the years, Datacolor tells me that I shouldn’t be editing in places like these; but the truth about the job is that I absolutely have to. It’s imperative in today’s world to be fast–it’s why I shoot digital to begin with. So what happens is that the displays and the Datacolor SpyderX Elite doesn’t always tell me that where I’m editing is an ideal environment.

Fixed an issue that could cause SpyderX not to be recognized, if certain 3rd party USB redirection software was installed. Profiling means characterizing how a particular device reproduces colors and a color profile can be used to compensate and effectively calibrate a display by altering color response at the graphics card level. It took quite a bit of experimenting with all the projector setup/display options to find the ones that gave the best results after profiling. Modern projectors have improved linearity and gamut, but still there are differences between projectors and monitors. In the example here, the out of gamut areas are shown in grey, but you can change this highlight colour.

When it comes to calibrating digital projectors, both the SpyderX Pro and Elite models offer advanced technology for color accuracy. However, the Elite model offers the additional capability of projector calibration.I’ll settle for the better visual match, but remember that if you use the tuning, only one screen is now fully calibrated.
