About this deal

It's another fragrance that smells like cheap artificial cherry cosmetics, like Prada Candy Gloss, but Seductive Red is a is spicier, and more artificial smelling fragrance. At least Seductive Red doesn't have a drydown that smells a bit like Play-Doh. I still like Candy Gloss because the vanilla and almond smells better to me. Too bad it's discontinued. This will have to do.

I adore this perfume! Can't stop wearing nor can I keep my 24, 26 and 28 yr old daughters out of it when they come over. I have natural bright red hair which people mistake for dyed red hair "Lucille Ball" hair "Orphan Annie" hair. I've been criticized by some people for being a loud says what she wants and what she means ballsy girl. As such I'm always looking for bold fragrances. This was a fragrance I had missed in the 80s but I'm loving it now and making believe it's STILL THE EIGHTIES and I can get away wearing it in the right clothing. This is it. My new personality perfume. I made no secret of my support of the first female candidate to the US Presidency Mrs Hillary Rodham Clinton and I have actively fought and defended female human civil rights as an outspoken feminist. Red is like a pillar of smoke in fiery red hues, with those yellow and red, charcoal gray ash colors. It is it's own unique fragrance but does wear like those brassy unisex Oriental classic parfums Yves Saint Laurent Opium but also older fragrances like Tabu, 20 Carats, Krizia Teatro Alla Scala, Hermes Rouge, Avon Persian Wood Chanel Coco Eau de Parfum, and to a degree like a mega sized more flamboyant version of Samsara. This is as far away from any modern perfume today. Looking for sweet little gourmand cotton candy celeb scents? Then keep looking. This is a rich sophisticated luxurious complex deep intoxicating and amazing experience in perfume. Overall performance is disappointing but I adore this cherry. Its airiness and lightness makes it perfect for layering with other perfumes. Doing this amplifies the cherry note and extends the longevity of GSR as well. Layered with Mancera Wild Cherry, it’s 7 hours and still going strong. It’s sort of a dark, quiet beauty that’s compelling in a confident way, the one with something deep and interesting to say but in no hurry to share it; the introverted guest walking along cement form promenades in the moonlight, while everyone else is dancing the night away in the ballroom.

On me, this is a boozy, woody praline perfume. Not too sweet, rather strong and assertive. Definitely giving Mugler vibes, but in an easier-to-handle way (this is no Angel), BUT -having said that- this perfume is definitely not for the faint-hearted! Thus is for people who enjoy loud perfumes, who want the world to know what they are wearing. You will get noticed with this one.

So, it was a blind buy. I wanted to try something with cherry and since it is an edt and it was very affordable I figured it was time I tried something different. It is initially fruity and cherry dominant and dries down to a tonka-cherry situation. It reminds me of CH VGG base +cherry minus the rose but in a lighter way if that makes any sense. It's the tonka bean I believe.

My Account

This smells so familiar. Perfumes from the 80s are very distinct and unforgettable, which is sadly not the case with many of the modern frags. For me and on my skin, it's all about the spices, the amber, the Myrhh from the opening to end. Getting warmer with more of the sandalwood, fruit and florals appearing near the end, but very subtly. And lastly for me, the vanilla and the jasmine. The performance is excellent. It easily lasts all day (10+hours) and has moderate to strong projection for more than half of the wear. Even once it settles it still projects within arms length. When I have applied it for the evening, it is still present on my skin the next morning and in my hair and clothes until they are washed. Still not a Carolina Herrera Good Girl dupe or an Ariana Grande Cloud dupe (nothing coconutty sweet there), I don't get why people find them similar to Seductive Red or Bella Vita being another cherry perfume from guess often compared to the Good Girl range too... Just think it's close to it, but nothing's exactly reminding you of either Seductive Red or Very Good Girl Glam for instance. VGGG is way better on the lasting power and it is a more strong fruity blend than the fruity-floral subtle blend of Seductive Red.

It's still a powerhouse perfume and I love it for that! Same notes and that same beautiful, gorgeous and sultry fragrance I always remembered. I don’t have Armani Si but i have its supposed dupe, In Woman by La Rive. In Woman smells similar to Always Red too but its the less sweet version. All of them are cheap awesome scents! Worth a blind buy if you adore Si. But Always Red is tops my fave amongst the three. Such a lovely intoxicating and addicting scent. I wish it stayed that way the whole way through, but it sits there, up top, long enough to enjoy. Maybe like a few minutes. If Red was a woman, this how I would envision her, beautiful and seductive, warm and inviting, intelligent and regal without arrogance. A twilight scent that wears well into the night. The glossy cherry is prominent at the opening but dries down into that pipe tobacco scent. It even reminds me a little of People of The Labyrinths “Luctor et Emergo”.

Now, why does she terrify me so? There are a few reasons….I’ll probably cry (as I associate her with that wonderful time in my life…of being madly in love, with the ONLY man that I’ve ever truly loved), and because of the memory of how insanely STRONG I recall that she was. I have become more sensitive to certain things, even things I once loved (but can absolutely no longer tolerate). I fear that Ms. RED could be a very real migraine threat to me now. To smell her again, may leave me in a puddle on the floor, sobbing AND with a MIGRAINE to boot. My only qualm, at that moment, was why didn't I trust my gut and get this soon enough (fun fact: I love a cherry note). Sprayed it on, went for my power walk and then went shopping. I'll wear this baby when ever and wherever I damn well want Let me tell you a story. It was around 11pm when I went out for a night walk. There is this one cat around my neighbourhood which I (and all the neighbours) always pet - it is super chill and friendly. Usually it comes to me but won't allow to be touched, we are on a strange relationship here. Tonight, I have sprayed Always Red Femme, the cat came up to me, smelled me, for a brief second it seemed it will run away, but it stayed. Won't let me pet it though. I thought alright, I am going home then. It followed me all the way to my house, it kept its distance and did not come to my flat, but it had followed me for the first time in history. Of course it might be wrong to say it followed me because of my perfume BUT here's a speculation: I think its previous owners have moved out and left it because sometimes it looks depressed, sad and thin. Even tonight, I gave it food for it was hungry. So what if, its previous owner has been wearing Always Red Femme or something similar? The DNA of this fragrance is super popular, think of Armani Si and all its flankers. I will never know.

I don't think it smells like Youth Dew or Tabu. I can't speak for Cinnabar as I haven't had the pleasure of smelling it. For me, the closest I can compare it to is Charlie Blue and Estee Lauder Beautiful. It is a more feminine version of Charlie Blue and a less floral version of Beautiful so it is kind of like a hybrid of the two. I have the EA version.
